MnCA Membership Meeting and Self-care Workshop
As part of the advocacy prompted by Mental Health Day on the Hill, the Minnesota Counseling Association (MnCA) supports its members in gaining knowledge on advocating for their own mental health. The work we do as counselors can be challenging and emotional. Self-care is a topic often discussed, but not as frequently employed.
We are hosting an event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 15th. The first hour will be a Membership Meeting in which we will discuss upcoming plans for increasing membership outreach and networking opportunities, in addition to sharing information on the theme of the 2018 MnCA Annual Conference this fall.
From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., a seasoned clinician will speak on the topic of self-care in the work we do as counselors and mental health advocates. Members will have the opportunity to gain insight on how to maintain healthy boundaries and keep their own mental health needs front and center, gaining perspective and coping strategies in the process.
Date: Thursday, March 15th
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Location: Nokomis Library — 5100 South 34th Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55417 (Nokomis Meeting Room)
